Is there any gold in the yadkin river in nc?

Or in any creeks around the area?

been over it a few times and wondered that myself

Im sure there is gold in the Yadkin but it would be tough to recover due to the silt and muddy bottom. Have found color in several Yadkin tributaries. Try panning Deep Creek near where it enters the Yadkin and you will find some. Good luck.

There is gold all over NC from the coast in the NE to the mountains in the west. For any of the major drainages you have to get to the old coast line before you'll see any real color in the 3 major riverways. Instead of silt you'll see gravelly bottoms / stones, at that point you are in the correct elevation to pull color out. Theres gold under the silt sequences, it's just buried under 20 feet of silt at least and theres no guarantee the gold you do find under there isn't just fine flood gold (which most will be as you get closer to the coast) The old coast line starts roughly west of raleigh / chapel hill and follows parallel to the current coast line down to just a touch east of the uwharrie mountains / Troy. Goodluck

Beware of the water moccasins... they have a necrotic venom for those not aware, it rots your flesh. Don't mess with them.
