We have some drill holes that show gold at the bottom but it looks like the drill bit hit a rock or two on its way down to 20'. We need to know if we can get a detector to drop down a 8" wide hole that will pick up readings on its way down. Click on the link below.

...... You could drop a pinpointer down...... I never knew of any gold in Clearfield county Pa.???

I feel certain that the dirt you pulled out of the hole will contain gold if the drill passed through it.
You should have been testing the dirt as you pulled it out, that way you would know the depth of the gold ore.

No this drill hole is not in Pa. We did pan the dirt from each hole and found more gold but we can not dig at the site yet, need to finish the paper work for mineral rights. The drilling company used air to blow out the dirt and there was some gold at the surface from the hole but we would like to know if this all came from one stone or from many. I hope to drop a detector down to see from what area the gold came from so we know the depth we may have to dig someday. photo 1.JPGphoto 2.JPG

Why not use one of those cameras the sewer companies use to check water lines ? I'm sure you could rent one somewhere .

Sure you can make one easy. 4"coil 20' pvc pipe vid detector camera coil attached to pipe attach vid box above coil attach camera to watch vid as its lowered

Kelly Co Detectors said there is no detector they know of that will go side ways down a hole with out giving false readings. I called Fisher Detectors at the Research Center to see what they can come up with. We plan to core drill when we return and that will tell us everything we need but it would be good to have somekind of detector for holes.

I guess the coil wire would cause false readings in that small of an area. I hope Fisher Labs can help.

If you're talking about that yellow thing at the bottom, it almost looked like a bloom of some sort off a flower. If I had an operation like that I would have a monitor to view my camera instead of just dropping a phone in a hole and waiting to see what is on it after you pull it up.

No Cell Phone Camera :dontknow:, This was taken by the drill crew with a camera that had with a LD light on it. We were drilling for a void, cave or room not for gold. We are in a gold mine area and did not see this when we were at the site and yes we have monitors to. When the drill crew said there was no void , no one paid any attention to what was down at the bottom of the hole. We saw this 1 month later and now we own all of the mineral rights in the area. In the spring we hope to dig at this site to see what it is , but we did return and found gold around the drill site.
