- Prospecting
I’ve been prospecting for 7 years, mostly in the North Fork American, Bear River and Woods Creek. I finally bought my first detector and have never had so much mis-information and conflicting information both verbally and from internet searching on open and legal locations to prospect (in this case- metal detecting).
Even the guy I purchased my unit from couldn’t tell me where to go (or wouldn’t). It’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive to the gold from where I live for day trips, so a lot of the Motherload is within reach. The only hopeful spot I can seem to find for detecting is Bagby, but when I called for more info, the number was disconnected.
Anyone happen to know the legit rules here?
Anyone know of a club that actually has claims in the foothills and not way up the mountain?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
