Detector(s) used
Minelab Goldmonster 1000, Bazooka Goldtrap, Keene A52, Crevicing
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
I’ve been prospecting for 7 years, mostly in the North Fork American, Bear River and Woods Creek. I finally bought my first detector and have never had so much mis-information and conflicting information both verbally and from internet searching on open and legal locations to prospect (in this case- metal detecting).

Even the guy I purchased my unit from couldn’t tell me where to go (or wouldn’t). It’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive to the gold from where I live for day trips, so a lot of the Motherload is within reach. The only hopeful spot I can seem to find for detecting is Bagby, but when I called for more info, the number was disconnected.

Anyone happen to know the legit rules here?

Anyone know of a club that actually has claims in the foothills and not way up the mountain?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There aren't any easy to find published rules against it.

Many detecting websites recommend it as a place to go.

Panning is allowed

Thanks for the link Goldwasher!
