Hello Forum?

Any idea what this could be? Initially, I thought it might be to a music box. But then I thought maybe to a clock. The head swivels, and it is fragile. Maybe jewelry box, or gas lamp? FullSizeRender.jpg

something in the pic to use as a size reference would be helpful

Could be to a music box or a clock.
Not a lot of images of clock backs but this will give you the idea.
And images of music box winders in place is even harder.
I would say yours is most likely a music box winded by the style and light duty of it.

I'm with huntindog. I believe it's a winder. To me, it's got a 1920's look to it

Thanks for taking a look. I really appreciate the assistance. Here is another look at the way the top swivels, and the underside of the key.FullSizeRender (2).jpg

I vividly recall the square center piece of the stem that is broken off in the knob.

I had to use a small wrench to wind my alarm clock, and then I tried to superglue the knob back on.

I had to go to a lady neighbors house. She had nail polish remover to free my fingers from the knob, winding stem and clock.

How'd that feel?
