Well my contact to get me into a 1700s house to detect today failed because she was to intoxicated to get me the address and phone number so I hit my lawn again and found a few things. One as funny as it is and You Tnet folks have seen the wierd things from my lawn, is I found an old Iron and railroad nail. I don't think there is any date on the Iron but can someone help me with atleast era its from like 1700's 1800s? It is not 1900s this thing is heavy and looks blacksmith made. Anyway here's the pics of today!

Man that iron must have blasted your ears into kingdom come ! I've never seen one with a handle like that - I'm guessing circa 1880's -1900 .

It was loud and deep! I have seen 1890s ones but they were not solid like this. Then again my town was settled in 1730 and my yard has given everything from musket balls to jagged rusty broken saw blades

I would say the earlier 1800's, have found several without the handles ...nice one

first one I've seen with a handle like that. that's really cool

that is in amazing shape coming out of the ground.....I doubt you will even need to soak it.....if iron came out of the ground like that around here...Id dig all iron signals(!!)

That is nice! Makes me think I ought to stop ignoring all of my iron signal, ha!

Thanks guys/gals! I was proud of that Iron! On my F2 it hit 15 on the Iron VDI before digging then it went to overload! Now I want to hit all the high iron targets... only reason i dug that one is there was no grass so the landlord could not yell at me haha

Just think how big the arm muscles must have been of the woman who used that iron.
Also, it looks like the original handle broke off and the huge ring was put on.

Congrats on the iron! I concur with pa plateau hiker. It still looks a little older maybe.
