A common phenomenon with hurricanes. Combination of barometric pressure and wind can cause water to recede from beaches. This is, however, temporary. The water returns to previous levels within a few hours. At times, the primary storm surge follows.

Time for more coffee.

I would have loved to hit the beaches by me. Unfortunately the sheriffs by me wouldn't let anybody near the coast

sheriffs? bah humbug, they won't shoot you for detecting will they?

I said to my wife, I wish I could go down to FL. She ask if I wanted to help out? To help out with what I said, after a storm is a great time to metal detect! What was she thinking
of?? :)
