Anuway I left the house after 10 Am, and arrived on site around noon, not something you'd do in the good season, Man my fingers were cold.

The hunt was rather short at about 2 hours, oh boy, but anyway I do think I got a couple of decent finds.

The "shield having "KENTVILLE" on it is local, and possiblly railway ?
A very decent full penny NS 1P token
And a very decent IH penny

The button, possibly the best find, don't know what it is, but again very DECENT !!

HELP !! on the button.

Wil be digging again for sure.
Good luck out there.
Rick

All I know is I like that button! Possibly a police or fire badge of some sort?

Great button! That badge is a gods find too. This weather is rough. Hope there's a few more sunny days before the winter.

Nice little round up there Rick, wish I could have been there.

Nice finds! Congrats!

Nice variety of finds there...love that button, hope you get some good info on it...Congrats!

Good finds there Rick!

I've found a few buttons in the past with just a crown on them, I never did find anything about them. I'm not saying they are military in origin, but I'm more inclined to believe they are the kind of thing that anyone could buy to adorn their uniform for whatever reason they thought. Town officials, police, marching bands, security, etc anyone that liked the crown device or motif could have upgraded their uniform and add a bit of aftermarket bling to it

got it. A wanna bee button.:laughing7: At least it's not another plain, Jane.

Good digs Rick like the big penny the badge looks interesting.HHI spent half my day cutting logs. It was nice in the woods no flies .

I believe the button to be military of some sort. it appears to be Queen Victoria's Crown, which should indicate pre-1901

Wow........ great day my friend.:hello:

Nice digs. :icon_thumleft: Any ID on the old badge? WTG on the IH and NS token.

I got a better picture, and most all the lettering figured out, maybe camp aldershot related ? I still don't know

Made of pewter, and says

FROM
R G
CAMPBELL (or maybe CAMP 9 ??)
KENTVILLE
