I have seen many errors, but never one like that. Unfortunately I have found that usually means it didn't happen at the mint. My opinion is that it is not a mint error, but that is just an opinion.

To me it looks like this. Found here: http://mikebyers.com/museum.html Or I'm wrong?

I knew if I said I didn't think it happened at the mint, you would find that it did, chalk the assist up to me ;D . It indeed does look like that one. What is the rarity on that, like I said I have never seen one. Maybe I have to look harder for this?

This is just what happens when you spend your food money on a box of halves. In the future I would suggest the hunter use the "rejects" to buy a couple of those $1 double cheeseburgers from the McDonalds. No pickle, extra onion, with lettuce. It's the only way to go. Really.

P.S. Yes, THE McDonalds :-[

My personal opinion is that McDonalds is not good for your health. So, I would prefer something more solid :))

OK. You up for a challenge? A 'Throwdown' if you will? I'll eat 2 of the McDonalds double cheeseburgers a day for a week. You eat 4 half dollars a day for a week. We'll see which one is more nutritional at the end of the week. Either way, I think both we're gonna be flushing otherwise good money down the toilet.

It is a mint error and they are rare to find like this. I am not sure what the value may be but I would keep it and get it certified.

Found this coin today during CRH. The only keeper from the box. Is this true error or mechanical damage? Would it cost more than $.5? Thanks!

Yes, that is a true mint-made error coin ~ partial brockage. When this coin was being struck a previously struck coin failed to eject from the coining chamber and partially over-lapped this coin while it was being struck. The error itself is kinda common ~ but errors on Kennedy halves are rare and desirable. NICE FIND!!!!

Here's the address to my error coin webpage . . . .
