Ok guys, I have to admit that I've been envious of your finds so I had to give it a go...

I got 18 rolls of halfs today and one of the halfs looks like gold on silver. It's a 1990-D. Anyone know anything about it?

I also got an off center 1980-D half. It's low and the rim fades off at the bottom. It also looks like the date is running off a bit.

I also found a 1960 half.

I got the manager of the bank to order me a box of halfs for next week and asked her if she could get me on every other week and she said yes! YAY!!! :hello2:

Here's a couple of pictures of the finds for today. Sorry that you can't rally tell it's gold because my lighting in my house sucks and it's not the best camera, but you can tell it's obviously not the normal color.

And I really don't believe this to be painted by someone. It just looks to me like it was made this way.

Who plates them? Do they come from the mint like that or did someone do it after the fact?

Post mint plating. Sometimes happens in chemistry classes (copper, chrome, whatever). Not sure of the gold plating though. Littleton maybe??
