Interesting Find At An 18th Century House

Got to hunt a new permission today, a house built in the 1740’s. Found this interesting piece that came out of the ground in two parts and looks to be made of lead or pewter. The half with the writing and animal has a loop at the top that’s been smashed, but it looks like it could be worn around the neck. It also has a date at the bottom that looks like - -45. Any thoughts as to what this is? Thanks!

Contact multiple places, that will give you a better chance of an ID. The above Museum is the nearest big Museum to Rochdale, so it will be within their collecting area & will spark more interest than the British Museum (which you should try as well).
I can't find one recorded on the PAS database!
