Not sure what type of copper this is but congrats on finding a 1600's coin. Did you know the area that you are detecting had early history?

Beautiful Copper!! Many People Go 30 Years Without Finding A Coin From The 1700S. Let Alone A 1600S!!! That Place Must Have Some History!!

Awesome find

Nice Copper. Still on my wish list.

Excellent condition copper you recovered. Most of the ones that turn up are in far worse condition, worn so badly it's difficult to tell much about them. Looks like yours was lost before it got anywhere near that condition.

screwynewy . Yes ,I did know the property has old history starting sometime in 1660s.

Thanks for looking everyone! I love 1692-it was a good year!

Excellent find! Wow!

Beautiful coin! Love it!

Very nice copper! Like others have said, it's not easy to break into the 1600's! Congrats

Really awesome coin & in great shape! I wish I could get to a site that dated back that far. The places I detect weren't really settled by colonists until the early to mid 1700s.

Very difficult to find a WM copper in that condition. It's downright remarkable. You are on a VERY early site for that coin to have been lost before it was worn smooth. GREAT find, and keep diggin.

Sometimes I getting lucky with something like this. Usually. if it is a copper it is a smooth and corroded disk. Thanks for looking.
Ruslan.

That is a really cool coin, and some very nice detail as well, congrats.
