Yet how much evidence is apparent. Repeated strikes and blows and polishing. An average conveniently shaped stone will not show any effort.

I used to think a tool took a lot of effort and time to create but they can really be made in 15 minutes or probably less, changed my perspective on how a na might have valued a point.

true, but sometimes you find a work of art. ..and then there are all those G10's on ebay

Well that axe wasn’t a work of art and took a bit of effort (if you all watched the video),

I tried the first time it got to the knapping then my internet failed me... like usual. Watched h The whole thing just now. Like I said you can knap a tool pretty quick. looked like much more work to polish and haft though

Interesting video.

Very likely that was not his first tool or time to perform the total process. It would be interesting to know how many he had made.

Practice and persistence.

To one extent or another I've done everything he shows. i would think he put at least 10 hours into it. The material looks like Catoctin Greenstone (metabasalt) or something very similar. The grinding alone on that was probably five hours. The fire shaping of the handle was awesome. That is actually harder than it looks, that guy has had some practice! That part would take me a good five hours by itself.

that is what i was thinking....10 hours is nothing when you have all day

well I know i am tuned to the seasons...i live in the woods and I pretty much align my day with sunlight....more activity in the summer and early to bed in the winter.

Wow that is a badass video Digger! Thanks for sharing!

Gives a better sense of abraders.
