I was told these were from a family house built in the late 1800’s I have installed the door knob on my door but these came too. At first I thought it was a pull to ring the bell but I’m not convinced they are related the design, on the front and around the pat dates are different.

Yeah it looks like a mechanical door bell. The ones I’ve seen have a small knob you twist to ring the bell but I am sure some could use other mechanisms. It’s possible your parts are a mismatch, the patent dates don’t seem to match on the handle and bell. If the bell works you might be able to determine what motion triggers it’s mechanism.

Mojjax I think you got it. The bell works you pull down on a small piece of rope attached to a loop. I guess maybe just mismatched or possibly a replacement... never seen a pull like that before. my first impression was some sort of electrical switch

Very nice OTB!

I like that doorknob. I reminds me of the one in "Home Alone" that put the brand on the crook's hand, LOL.

Nice work Mojjax!

Best wishes!
