Today I returned to the old church that is just loaded with Indian heads. Today I got seven(1881,1898,1899, 1900, 1901, 1902 x2). Also got a 1884 v nickel in a spill with one of the Indians and another 1910 v nearby. IHP total for this site is now 24. This is all in an area not much larger than your average swimming pool. Where are all the Barbers and seateds. Only found one:BangHead:

30 yrs ago there was a group of guys that would leave all the penny signals behind in this 400 acre park. Just dug the silver signals and that was ok by me, 23 yrs later I still dug over a hundred silvers out of the park in one season. So it happens where some folks are just after one thing and that's it, digging all IHs is pretty cool.

Hi There, Awesome bunch of Indians. More than likely it was a penny pitch area that the church had for one of there picnics. May not find any silver in that area. Just a guess though :) Paul

That's more little Indians then I have dug my hunting career, Congras!!

Congrats!!! :occasion14: I think Erik NJ is correct, and when is it going to rain?? GL, keep us posted..

Five dates in a row, how cool is that? !! Love that green patina IHs get. HH

That's a huge tribe! Well done!

Not gonna post Indians anymore unless its a fatty, 1877, or silver is involved in the hunt. Love seeing everyone else's though to compare the years and conditions

don't forget about the 1885 v nickel, not as prestigious as the 1877 ih but still would be nice to find, you were only 1 year off,i would hit that place till no sounds are heard

Yeah I saw that. 1886 is a key date too. Too bad those nickels look so crummy

It had rained just before this hunt and it definitely helped. Previous trip only found 1 IHP and a toasted LC

On most machines IH cents don't come up in the pull-tab range unless they are fatties. Also wheat cents generally don't come up as dimes either. As JCache said someone may have cherry-picked the silver that would have come up higher than IH or wheat cents. There are probably deeper silver coins that you are missing. You may want to go over the spot with a Minelab machine for the extra depth. The AT Pro is a good all-around machine, but will not get the same depth as an Explorer SE Pro.

I disagree to an extent. Almost all my wheaties ring as dimes. If I get dime / penny bounce then I know I'm on a late 60s to 70s Lincoln almost every time
