No beaches in Crystal River. Nature Coast, very wild area along the coast there. Beautiful.

If you live in Florida that doesn't qualify as a beach. There are several little spits of beaches along the nature coast like that. Many man made like the ones in Key West. You are correct, it's a beach ⛱ . It will have beautiful sunsets too.

PS... just so you know ... Crystal River area is ONE OF the best to detect IF you are looking for a real find beyond a recent drop.

Beings it has been a hotbed of pirate and Spanish activity and is tied to the very first place in America to have activity... in fact... some of the first steps made on this country were there.

Oldest place in entire country and used as an anchor area during Spanish Explorations.., PRE inhabitation by anyone.

Many forget... Florida IS THE oldest place... The FIRST place... in Entire North America.

Here is resource... https://www.visitflorida.com/beaches/

Go look at photos man.
I was just stating to a out of state guy that if he's looking for beaches Crystal River isn't a hot spot. As far as detecting it might be great, I don't detect. I'm a Florida native, lived in Homosassa. When we wanted to go to a nice beach it wasn't Crystal River. South to Honeymoon Island & beyond are real beaches. Out islands too. They call it the Nature Coast & it is just that. Beautiful unspoiled coastal marshes and rivers, abundant wildlife. I hope that it is always maintained that way.

I was just at Honeymoon recently... was also at Green Key the day before that one.

There is not a beach from Green Key south to Passagrill that have not hunted / know like the back of my hand.
But i never have been to Crystal River beach..
I enjoy Caladisi Island just south of Honeymoon and the little state boat ride to get there. Really a pretty place.

First in the usa maybe. First in Canada was at L'anse aux Meadows Newfoundland. Predates the arrival in Florida.

hey guys, thanks for all the info. It turned out I never had much time to hit those areas anyway but a fun trip indeed. The weather was fabulous and managed to catch the manatees and monkeys lol. Maybe next trip I get to do some real exploring....
