Ok everyone, I need help again. I know it’s a button. But does anybody recognize the image plus writing. Obviously it’s Asian in nature but I cannot identify it to save my life. Found in NM what I believe to be and old military dumping ground. (WWI-WWII era) The quarter is for size comparison. Thanks for the help.

P.S. It was in a fire and had glass melted around it. That’s why it’s in the condition it’s in.

I'm seeing a Japanese lady in a kimono holding a fan.

Compare the details to this one posted a while ago, ultimately identified as a sash buckle (although they exist as brooches and buttons too).

This kind of Japanese imagery was popular from late Victorian times through to the 1920s.

Solution
@Red-Coat
Thank you so much! You hit the nail on the head. I put so much time into researching this, finally concede and post it here and it gets answered in just a matter of minutes. Absolutely amazing.

I’ll change this to solved once I’m on a pc. I can’t figure it out in the phone website.
