i'm happy!

My new spot is just minutes from my house, it's the same spot I found the hammerstone. I ran down there today, and within a few minutes, found this. No insitu-forgot my camera. It's ass-end was sticking out from under a rock. I didn't have anything big enough to put it in to protect it, it's thin!, so I ran home, got my camera, and took a picture of the terrain in which I found it. didn't find anything else, couldn't settle down enough to focus :laughing9: Still can't believe it's whole, thanks for looking!

oh yeah, it's got that long flute down the middle, that's different. I don't think it's paleo, just a little differnet.the base is the thickest part.

I always considered a miden an occupational layer of time frames in context. Look for charcoal in the banks of that creek. Maybe someone else can explain it better than I. Love that "OMG".

Thanks John, Jim, Bill and southerngirl.

Tn, I've read what you and others said the last year or so about midens. I keep looking for something like that. what would charcoal look like? a thin black layer in an eroded creek bank? One of those banks that are pretty much sheered off vertical? I think another creek we search might have one because of a layer of shells, buckshot disagrees with me. :dontknow: But how could a piece this large not be broken in raging flood waters, unless it recently washed out of a bank? You don't have to answer  These are just many of the ongoing questions I have ;D
