Alright not really but man if it gets any drier I've decided to go into business selling salted rolls of sod via the internet,I'll toss in a few nice silvers and some relics and sell it by the foot like pay dirt...:icon_biggrin:
Holy cripes at least six weeks now and nothing but a few drops of rain in my area.

We are finally getting rain, and my finds are going up.

Woods around me never dry out that bad but hard to hunt parks or yards during dry spells cause it’s so difficult and destructive
Same here Relicmeister.
Though I'm not sure what shape the woods around me are in at this point I was out a few weeks back.
But I'm not going to get out in parks or lawns I mean here it is bone dry at leas 6 inches down.

Places that I've been regularly hunting for years are suddenly impenetrable jungles of 5 foot grass and weeds!
Too much rain isn't good either.
We actually have a lot of both here this summer. We had a very wet winter for us, so, the weeds grew 4-6 feet high in the spring. Now that it's summer, the ground is petrified and has 4-6 foot dry brush now. Might be a nasty fire season this fall unless some major brush clearing work starts soon.

I was born and raised in Julian and these kind of conditions scared the daylights out of us that lived there. and the cedar fire confirmed our worse fears.

Yup, nice area, but, you always have that threat in the back of your mind.

You should try Arizona talk about dry, but I think rain is coming. I hope. Good. Hunting sadly to hot near Phoenix 110 + F day after day . Will wait for Fall .

HARD PACK!
Bust out the Railroad Pick!

:laughing7:
Indiana?
You should look for the bar used in Breaking Away?
probably worth at least a couple hundred on ebay.
Momma, The Italians are coming!!

Now you did it had to watch that movie last night I'm only a few miles away from where it was filmed.
There's tourist town near by there(Nashville Indiana) I go past the quarry that was used as a filming location every year in the fall but from my understanding they have pretty much filled it in.

Hello, have you tried artifact hunting at or near streams. I do both and I have had much more success finding Indian relics. Often times just taking a break and trying a new or similar hobby helps.
