I'm Diggin...
Ok, folks. I unwrapped my new ACE 250 and hit the backyard this weekend. Ten minutes later I was $.16 richer
, most of it all in one spot where some luckless hunter sat with big pockets up in the deer stand, which is still there. (Six years ago this was all densely wooded.) I thought, "This is too easy." Well, God got me for that statement. Along the old fence line yesterday, ACE hit something that keeps dinging coincoincoin, all kinds of 'em. 8+ inches down. I started digging in ground that is absolutely hard as a rock. And inside the "rock" are roots. Shovel was useless. (This is my own yard; I can dig 'em deep here.) Got myself a rug to sit on and began stabbing. After 15 minutes the hole was all of 3" deep and 8" around. The treasure is still 6+ inches down. I even tried to get my black lab, who LOVES to dig holes, to come help me. Sweat was dripping and my husband was standing in the swimming pool looking at me and laughing. 
I gave up for the time being, put my ACE and diggers away and ordered the dog to lay near The Hole but not to touch it (reverse psychology 
). I put a chair over it so I wouldn't break my ankle in the middle of the night if I was sleepwalking, and I now have a new challenge. Dig "The Hole." :P I don't care if it ends up 2' deep and 3' across. There is Something down there and I aim to find it. Any clue as to what could be giving me all the dingdingdings and readings clear across the board? Thanks! -Noodle
