I'm Back!!!

Last weekend was a bust as I hurt my chest/shoulder doing something stupid on Fri which is not unusual. I have nursed it all week & its good to get back out there!

We went to a late Roman Site which looks like it continued into the Saxon period - very unusual!
(4 hours 45 minutes)

31 Roman Bronze Coin
1 bad Roman Silver
My first fragment of a horse head 4th/5th C Roman Buckle
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Acorn shaped Tudor Belt Mount
My most complete 6th C Saxon Brooch:headbang:

A Sceat from circa 650AD, full ID to follow - Series K/N I think.:headbang::headbang:

that is an amazing number of romans from one day! well done. Like the brooch!

Crusader......You are unreal......Your daily finds would be a good year for many. Of coarse we can't quite keep up on the age in the good ole USA but still time after time you post unreal finds. PLEASE keep the pics coming as I always look forward to your finds. Congrats.:icon_thumleft:

Cheers everyone:occasion14:

To find such a complete brooch from a period, often referred to as the Dark Ages when no coins or pottery was made is a great day in my books, the Sceat, just tops it off big time. Sometimes we make it look easy:thumbsup:

I'd move to England if the weather there wasn't so crappy!

Very, very nice finds.

Very, very nice finds.

I love crappy, its my best kind of weather, otherwise I would be on a beach in the Bahamas. After all the Romans would not have invaded unless our weather was like it was. Grain is gold.

Very Cool Cru !!!....

Really nice,Thank you for sharing!! Its posts like this that motivate me to dig just a little deeper the next time i go out!!
