I'm back! Smiles!! A little gold and some silver too
Hello to all my old friends and some new ones too! I missed you guys!!
It's been since the 2007 hunting season since I have posted some finds as I pretty much took last year off to totally pursue my writing endevors, but I have been out a few times this season so I thought I would get caught up here posting the finds from 8 trips out this year. My last trip out was yesterday, so I hope the Moderators don't mind me getting caught up in Todays Finds.
Like I said, I have been out 8 times in April, May, and June, hitting two or three schoolyards each day. Pillaging the woodchips with my 1980 Garrett TR machine is sort of my specialty for those who may not know me. I have had a couple good days and a few slow days but I have managed at least one keeper (a gold or sterling jewelry piece) on each day out this season so far so that makes me pretty happy. I started out slow this year searching only 2 or 3 hours as the old body sure takes time to get in MD'ing shape after taking basically the last 1.5 years off.
I have only managed one Goldie so far this season but it's a nice one. A 14Kt cross with approximately 3 carats of diamonds in it. I took it to my jeweler friend, he said they were real but pretty low quality which I kind of thought from their color... not clear white. I'll take it though!
I have managed some nice sterling/925 treasures. A Superman pendant, two nice 925 chains, a cross, a 925 men's figaro style bracelet, and several 925 earrings. Keeps me coming back!!
....
No silver coins yet, but some interesting coins including a few $1 US and $1 Canada coins, a $2 Canada coin, one bicentenial 50 cent piece, and a few quarter tokens, a Cici's penny, and a couple foriegn coins
No keeper rings so far this season but I keep hoping.
Like usual, I have found a large assortment of junk jewelry, rings, pendents & shoe fobs, earring, chains, keys, and of course hair barretts, buttons, & zipper pulls.
Here's the rings, jeweled hair barretts, and pins
A ton of pendants and shoe fobs.
....
Lots of junk earrings.
A few junk chains.
And the really junkie stuff, hair barretts, zipper pulls, and buttons.
It's been great getting out again. I'll feel better when the ole back and arm gets back in shape and I am not so sore afterwords.
Here's my totals. 8 times out for a total of 24 hours hunting time. I have mananged 656 clad coins so far for a face value of $56.35. No 200 coin days yet but I have had three 100 coin days. My best day was yesterday, in 5 hours, 177 coins = $15.92 face value.
Thanks for putting up with this long post and it's great to be back. I have been lurking around and commenting some. I missed TNet and all my friends!!
