Had the morning off, so I decided to do some digging early before the heat got too insane.

Found a few keepers ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501265954.253091.jpg

Too bad the pin isn't in better shape, always love finding military related itemsImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501266008.072977.jpg

Indian, couple George pennies, and a silver quarter was nice to find. But this Buffalo turned out be in really good shape. It's gotta be the best one I've ever dug.ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501266136.544956.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501266168.669468.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501266195.569071.jpg

Good luck out there everybody

beautiful Buff, detail is extremely nice. as said before most are no dates or like most of mine, pretty shot or toasted. congrats

That Buffalo may not only be the best you've ever dug, but is probably the very best I've EVER seen come out of the ground- Congrats!

Thanks, I certainly lucked out on both sharp details and gentle soil. I've never seen one dug up that is quite this nice either. I was hoping it had the S mint mark!

Hello J.Cache. That was a great hunt, nice finds all!! We've all got worn out Buff's...so nice to see a good one like that especially w some age on it...looks like is worth a few $'s too.

Mornin' hunts are great but the heat is almost always a killer down here in FLA...I've learned to drink water, move slow, dig, repeat, and leave the adult beverages until the diggin's done.

Thanks for the post and Good Luck out there. C9

And don't forget the sunscreen on the back of the neck!

Nice hunting man! That quarter is sweet, I found a nice clad 1970s version of that lol, cool buffalo too, good job!
Yeah the Canadian clad is different than the US, ours tends to stay shiny in the ground. Fooled me a few times too!

X12 on the Buffalo, the silver quarter is nice also... thinking Canada kept their silver going for a couple years past the United States mints. Just now reconfirmed with a Google.
Congrats on your hunt !!

25 cents

Composition: .925 Silver, .075 Copper (1870-1919)
Composition: .800 Silver, .200 Copper (1920-67)
Composition: .500 Silver, .500 Copper (1967-68)

Way to go Canada!!!

Yep, it's nice to have a few extra silver years here in Canada!

value is in the date and the details----- patina is a toss up whether it hurts or helps. :dontknow:
some collector will drool over your coin :icon_thumleft::icon_thumright:
Wow, you think $50? It's hard to figure with dug examples sometimes.

I took some more pics with better lighting, and I think you're right. I'd say it's got AU details! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501353657.234049.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501353680.797266.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1501353754.809144.jpgthe last pic is an AU example I found online

That's one pretty nickel, a coin that one can just stare at the crisp details. Lost early once it was in circulation and laying in wait till you recovered it, congrats on the keeper.

J, that amazing Canadian soil was like a spa treatment for that nickel. Nice one!
