Question: Does anyone know ANYBODY here you dug a $20 US gold coin? Or a gold Spanish cob (not out of the ocean or a beach)? I can't remember seeing either.

I'm hoping for more Confederate buckles (I'll take either kind) and some CW period coins from my one camp come late fall, but it's a fair piece off in the future!

No, I know of $5 gold pieces dug in both sides camps and been with a friend when he dug a $1 gold coin from a Union winter camp but never heard of a $20 piece by anyone. I may be wrong but I recall that huge hoard found a few years back in Milk cans hidden by "the goat farmer" contained some St Gaudens $20's.
