If you are going to ask about a piece, at least let us know what state!

Not for nothing, but it's probably a very good idea for nobody to ever show photos of their artifacts on a public forum.
Which seems extreme but maybe it's coming to that...

I don't want to be too descriptive for obvious reasons, but this was found by a buddy somewhere outside. possibly even the northern hemisphere of the moon. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg Any ideas?!

Like Charl says...just look at the mess that poor old fellow in Indiana is going through..ugh. I certainly would hate for it to come to that, God only knows WHO is scouring these threads..ddf

You can remove the GPS capability on your cell phone if you're using that to take your photos.
You can also "dead drop" your photo on another app or editor and save it from there that way the only info would be from the photo editor.
If somebody wants my stuff bad enough to get past my dogs and my firearms if I'm around they should know what they're getting into

Just a ''state'' would suffice.

I think all it takes is someone who is jealous or envious of someone elses hard work to ruin it for that ''one said person'' who has dedicated their lives in collecting certain collectables. It appears that ''Someone'' needs to just mind their OWN business.

You are so right and I believe that is what happened in the last FBI raid. Some people see what others have and if they can't steal it, they come up with a away to have someone else take it from them. It's not like artifact hunters are a threat to the USA or any of the Indian nations, nether do we stand a chance in changing what arches can find out about the past. We find things that have been lost or used and I would bet that most people that found a $20 bill laying on the ground are not going to hunt down the owner or go give back to the US mint. Also like you said it is not wise in my mind to show your whole collection on the internet for a number of reason's.

thank god for private property rights....in a lot of countries that 10,000,000 in gold coins that was found would belong to the queen or someone else, but not you.

Thats what the IRS is for.Even though there may be property rights, sometimes they dont count. The IRS isnt a U.S. agency, its a UN agency.

Just disable locations on your smart phone or camera it disables the GPS which can be read with Adobe Photo. It is not against the law to collect artifacts or relics or be a treasure hunter. I hunt in Tennessee,Alabama and Georgia on private land with land owners permission. :hello: Tomorrow I am digging civil war relics on private property. All a legal hobby.

Old Digger said it. State would suffice. That is put in the user's PROFILE and shows up under their username IF THEY PUT IT IN.
Thank you very much for your cooperation boom.
Tom in Tampa Bay, FL

I forget sometimes due to I just think most on the forum already know where I am. But I will try to remember.

Guard dogs and armed with a modified weapon should be enough to get a point across, if someone is gonna track my pics. Remember those Jagneaux people on the Swamp Crytid show. If you've ever watched it, you see they're something you don't want to get mess with! :violent1:
