ACE 250, garrett AT Pro
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Tried a new area today, little pull off by the river that I noticed people using quite often. Found plenty of clad, about 8 bucks worth. Found what looks to be turn cover that goes to a very old pad lock. A bullet and a stainless ring. The real " gem" was right at the bank about 4 inches deep. Ace 250 said it was another pull tab. ( I dug at least 30 of them ). It has no stamping or marks anywhere on it. As you may notice though, it cleaned up real easy. I don't have an acid test kit so I will certainly be taking it to a jewelry store tomorrow for a check up. Magnet does no stick to it at all. It's a monster if its real!!!

Pretty! Hope it's the real thing.

Wow great hunt, and best of luck at the jeweler. I think you dug a winner! Congratulations.

That's a great spot.

If I tried to do the same here in ny the water would eat my flesh as well as my detector. Plus I think there's more metal in our water than water

Hope it's real. HH

Looks real cant wait to see what they tell you

Scouts out!

Such a beauty :) hope its real... Hope it's really real...nice find

Nice, one can only hope its the real deal. Keep us posted when you find out.

Keep us posted , It sure looks like a goodie ! perhaps white gold ?

Nope, it's yellow. Lights in my kitchen and iPad camera make it look lighter.

Nice finds! Congrats and HH!!

man that sure looks real from the pics. The gold doesnt appear to be flaking off like a plated ring would do, even if the stone isnt real its in a nice setting, im gonna go out on a limb and guess that the jeweler says its real and that its either 10 or 14 karat, good luck!!

Is the different ring in pic #2 from the same hunt?

Regardless, a really interesting haul. Well done.
Mike

The ring is a 10 kt with a lab created ruby and CZ stones lol. Wife says it looks great on her hand. Had it been real stones it would have a value of up to 10 grand. Oh well still a cool find and more importantly the wife is happy. I'm begining to think that there is no others MDing in my area at all. That makes 6 gold rings this year and my clad count is over 200 bucks. I know that in the past there had to be because one of the parks i go to was originaly a fair ground then high school and elementary school yet I have not found one silver coin to date here. The other park has produced a mini ball and a musket ball and a few wheaties yet, again, no silver coins to date. The search continues.......

The ring in pic #2 is the same as the ring in pic #1 botom left. All from this hunt.

nice find and happy bday!

Congrats on your gorgeous GOLD ring! :notworthy: :occasion18: For sure, like any of us, you were very disappointed that the stones weren't precious, but your stones are beautiful anyhow -- it's an unusually lovely ring that your wife will certainly enjoy for years to come WOW! I just dug my first gold ring this week after 2 1/2 detecting years without ever finding gold at all, so I'm a bit jealous of your multiple gold finds --- though actually hope you dig a lot more gold rings too! Have fun! Andi
