I've been holding out hoping that this stupid bill gets overturned. I have a small 2.5 inch dredge that I was able to use for one season before this bill passed. I just can't understand so much of the argument. How is it better to leave mercury in the water to leech out than to have a short spike, and remove it entirely? How were the regulations in place stop recreational dredging during spawning not sufficient? How do they hold up a bill that has not shown any benefit to the population or health of the fish years after they passed it?
It just drives me crazy that they actually think banning dredging and upholding the ban after 0 proof of the benefits makes sense.
