I thought I seen something like this on the forum but am unable to find it(If I really even seen it). I bought my MD today tesoro cibola. Works Amazing! This was my very first thing I ever found. Found it at 5 1/2 - 6 inches deep in solid frozen soil, in the snow lol. I was eager to test it haha. it is about the size of a quater with an added tail. It is about 2 quaters thick. It is not magnetic, and my MD got the signal loud an clear with just about full discrim. It weighs 16.1 grams. Any ideas on what it is, or how old it is?Or if its worth anything lol? Btw, I found it in my backyard and damaged it on the other side digging it out =(. My first dig in frozen land, was bound to happen. Thanks ahead for anyones help on this incase I dont get back to thanking ya'll.

Yes, probably lead. But it does look like there may be very faint markings on it. And it appears to have a sort of a ridge around it, kind of like a coin.

It could be part of a lead seal. I'm guessing it is just scrap lead, though.

As to age, the Civil War lead we find in Virginia and surrounding areas has a light gray or white patina. Yours doesn't seem to have any patina so I would guess it is not very old.
