pics came from young man from church. Has 1776 on left side and 1876 on the right side.these are the best pics he gave me. thanks in advance for any help

I think it's safe to say it was a centennial suspender clip made in or shortly after 1876. PBK has info on others very similar here: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/what/33654-possible-centennial-what.html

LOL ... folks here that are good at that, but I'm not one, sorry barryh.
I'd just grab on to a word like "colonial" and try to fake my way with that until help arrives.
