Mines was close to a big wide old treeThere's something going on that isn't quite clear in the photos. In 1 & 2, it appears there's a thinner strip attached to the right side that's been folded under. Is it the same on the left side?

Thank you DCMattOdd piece. Pretty sure it isn't lead. Maybe cast brass? It is precisely made. The center part is a pivot point. My first thought was "bicycle brake pad/shoe". But I couldn't find anything even close...
