Yep. Why not send funds to a reputable dealer who is experienced in shipping and can back up product. Less risky than fishing for a straw man who could ship less than desired. If one thinks they have the upper hand ,often there is a reason. Not saying some thing is fishy, but i smell fish. Were actual cash sent it would be a freshly laundered scent.
someone said south affrica and another said congo llook at google maps there are a long distance between south africa and my country,
if i asked the people at the south africa forum so does not say this guy is scam ?
u believe that i'm scam, and the people at that forum are not scams !!!
i have said that before and i'm going to that say it again some people dont want to hep and they dont want others to help, they are obsessed with conspiracy theories

You will send paper u.s. president currency?
No one near you will accept your cash and place an order for you with their card?

i'm overseas i have no credit card to buy from ebay, i need someone to buy and ship to me
i will pay a commision to him.
i want to buy 2 used detectors goldbug-2 and minelab (GPX4000 or GP3500 or GP3000) and garmin GPS. i will send my money first then u buy to me, i will pay the price and shipping and the commision, i'm going to send my money cash via a registered air mail (3-4 bussines days to arrive)
the commision is negotiable PM please

First before working with this guy do a Google search on "419 scam" pay attention to the "advanced fee scams"
Second there are Western Unions all over his country so the need to send cash is nonexistent.
Third if your looking to have a bit of fun and have time on your hands Google "scambaiters"

skool, sign up for an account on Ebay. Surely some dealer will ship to you. Just make sure they will ship worldwide. Send them a message if necessary. You send the funds electronically and both you and the seller get protection for the transaction.

I tried to get info to help couldn't get a few thing across he told me too leave him alone
so I didn't Per-sue the mater didn't think this thread would go 4 pages

Skool, you wonder why many of us talk about scam, and try to convince others not to help you. Well, the answer is simple. Most of us have been on this site for a while, some longer than others, and that, brings a feeling of trust, at least we know the other has the same intereste. There have been a few new posters here, that said they were poor, but interested in metal detecting, and could some one donate a detector. I think all were met with a cold shoulder, and told to do some work to make the money.

Now you come from Africa, dont really say from where, or what you do, or why you dont have a credit card, or have no friends that can help you, what nationality you are, what you plan on doing with the detector, absolutely no information, that would bring about some form of trust, so what did you expect?

I can tell you one thing, no one in the world would send a thousand dollars or more, by mail. It would not even get past your local post office, registered or not.

There are a lot of helpful people on this site, but some have absolutely no experience with these kind of things, so they want to help. But there are some that know the pitfalls of this kind of help. Most cannot understand how this could be a scam, you seem like an honest guy. I dont know what brought them to the conclusion that you are a nice guy, maybe you sent them private messages to say you are nice. If someone wants to help a nice guy out, and maybe make a couple dollars, then you are lucky.

I just think there are more straight forward ways of getting your detector, than asking people on the forum. Dealers are in business to sell detectors, banks are in business to transfer money.

Now our moderators are getting down on us, because we want to warn fellow members about scams, so at least you have accomplished something!

this is what he's been saying in the first place .

you read every post 3 times ? Really ? :tongue3:

he wants to send the money up front

don't help if you don't want, Admit you don't understand, or are scared,
but where is reading comprehension ? :tongue3:

only scam that would work would be if the package contained something
else & you get a visit from wesley Snipes,
the day the package is due
:laughing9: but no personal banking info to him,
and a P.o. box should end that fear.

I hope Skool knows that there are plenty of crooks in America and if he does send cash money or some form of money that may have to be turned into American money there is a good chance Skool you may not see that detector and be a few grand in the hole!! If I am reading this whole thing right! Good luck skool.

Absolutely ! I almost want to delete all his posts to protect him.

But as far as I can tell he is an adult. :dontknow:
and hasn't been rude.

If someone says they will send thousands, to an unknown person, then there is something that isnt right. If you cannot send hard currency out of the country, then there wouldnt be a Western Union, doing business there. So you are illegally sending currency out of the country?

I cant believe there is a discussion about this. If someone is really interested, then please send him your address, bank account number, ss number, and any other info he wants. This is the most interesting thread this week, or even this year!

Is there anyone on this forum, that would send thousands of dollars to an unknown person, in an unknown part of the world, (does anyone actually know where he is?) So why do you think he is willing to send money to you? Didnt someone already post a link to scams? And no one believe that they can be scamed?

Yes his internet service is in the area of Khartoum in Sudan

I wonder how many guys have gotten rich bootlegging playing cards into Africa? Now there is a market that I didn't even know existed.

Why not buy from UAE? Not so far from Sudan. Seems most of the detectors are bought from there. Do you have a reason from not buying from UAE?

Not so far from Sudan !!!!! u r not going to carry the package of the detectors on ur pack , post office do the jop for u. the issue is not in the distance
did the UAE have forums about gold detecting so i can find people to buy from them ?
in most arab countries detecting for gold is not something that popular, so making a detectors shop is not going to be a good market, and i have said that many times i'm looking for used detectors that is due to my limit in my budget, citizens of UAE they dont detect so they dont have used detectors for sale !!!
beside that arabs COUNTRIES they ARE still far away from e-coomerce, not all dealers have web sites, web sites are so expensive there, u have to know that life is differnet than in USA ....
and dont say an african country ok, someone here said that most of the scams comes from africa, so i have to send my money to scammers isnt it ?
are you going to mention another country and asking me why not to buy from that country ?
tell me Do you have a reason for me from not buying from USA ?

From what I hear, most people in Sudan, buy their detectors from UAE, you didnt know that? Your right, citizens of the UAE do not detect, but there are business there, that sell new and used detectors. I dont really care where you buy your detector from, but why not buy it from a dealer? Are you going to send US dollars by mail, to the United States? Why make buying a detector so complicated, buying from a private party, that you dont know, and that person, buying a detector for you, and not knowing if it is in 100% working order. How much commission are you going to pay someone, for doing all this work? How much money are you going to send? Enough to cover the price of the detectors and shipping and insurance? As I said earlier, NO one would ever send cash by mail, so tell us how you are going to do it? Of course, you could come back with, "its none of your business". But since you are asking for help, from a forum that I belong to, then it is kind of my business.
You have internet, so why not look for yourself, Gold detecting in Sudan, for a start, but then it was another member that said you were in Sudan, you havent told us anything.
