So a year or so ago, I asked a guy about the empty lot next to his house...he said he owns it, no I can't. Yesterday, same guy was having a yard sale, but he was no where to be found, his wife and her girlfriends were running the show, so I asked the lady in charge...Yes! Haha sweet.:laughing7:

First target, I find hundred year old dime, that didn't have my initial on it...I would prove it by showing a pic of the reverse, but I scratched it, and you all would rank on me...

Slow going for a few hours, oddball crap and trash, then I got on the coin....wheats and memorials mostly....then a deep mess, 3 cents piled on each other....is that a...yes! Indian!
1905.... pretty smoked, but I'll take it.

I call "last target".... Which took a while, the trash pouring out of the ground wasn't acceptable.
Finally, a deep quarter I was feeling good about was my ticket out of there.....WOW!!!

This ain't a quarter! The root of the matter...it's a beauty!:headbang:

The treasures...

And my other stuff...image.jpeg

I can't wait to get this ring cleaned up, and sized for my wife....I'm thinking this is old, like art-deco 1920's.....
This is my best ring find ever.

Thanks for looking!:hello:

Yes.....when I first found it, I thought it was on a chain....I stopped, and slowly excavated the ring, like an Archie.....
When I realized it was root bound, I cut it off like a champ with my Lesche....

First, great finds; that ring is a killer. It would be great to keep the ring attached to the root (guess what...I probably wouldn't). Now, the permission. When I read your post, I felt uncomfortable. Yes, you had permission, but, in a way, you didn't.

Just be careful out there.

aj

I'm sorry for not disclosing the full details of the permission, the point was to show my finds....
As it turns out, the woman told me that a guy in Germany owns the lot, hadn't seen him in years....and also, that if I found a lost horseshoe, and her lost Pandora bracelet, to let her know. Once that was agreed upon, I was good to go.
She told me that they mow it, and look after it....so I wasn't gonna write a guy in Germany for the ok.
Thanks for your concern.

wow, what a relief Dave. You had us thinking it was like one of my kids asking me if they can stay up late ...and when they don't get the answer they want, they go ask mom...:laughing7:

Talented use of a lesche Dave!!!
WTG!

Very nice ring! I like the bottle too, perfume?

Every married man knows if the Wife says it's OK to dig in the yard, it's OK to dig in the yard!

He probably said no because he assumed that's what his wife would have said. Way to work the chain of command! :tongue3:

Dave--man, did you have a fun day! Ring looks like garnet and moonstone in silver. A beauty! Congrats. -Lisa & John

That's what it is....figured if was a ruby and diamond, it would have been in gold.

Check out my updated info in the metal detecting forum.....

Thanks Mr. Tones.....
The perfume bottle is Helene Curtis.... Didn't look it up as far age, guess 50's maybe....
I never would have found it if not for the lid....

I love this! I was out detecting today after work and it was about 20 minutes after calling it that I finally stopped.
Fantastic ring find, Its a beauty. As for the permission, Deft Tones hit the Merc on the head( I say merc rather than nail, cause I hate digging them.)

this time of year nothing makes me more fulfilled than knowing that you are still finding good stuff

BTW has your wife been missing me?
