I want to do an artwork depicting the Lost Dutchman

Please feel free to post up some of what you do. I work in the Computer medium. When somebody comes to me and wants a traditional print, then I will adjust the output to be the optimum for their particular use and have it printed on the medium required. Lots of folks are just happy to look at free lores versions on their computer screens.

Those are awesome, love the biplane most...here is my latest example of work, it is opaque acrylic. I found this place and took a pic from the sidewalk, then an older lady appeared and started swinging her cane at me told me to get the (bleep) away, so I figured it probably wasn't a good idea to ask permission to dig on her property. Got the picture at least!

Wow - I REALLY like that!!! Any chance you have artwork for sale, or do anything by commission?

Why not just do a comic book on the whole Dutchman story?

Thanks for the compliment (and thanks to Mr. Elgatodelnoche for inviting me to post a pic on his thread). Sometimes I exhibit in art shows, but the problem for me is time, this painting has over 300 hours in it and to do a commission I would not feel right about the asking price for that many hours, but I really appreciate the thought!

I have gotten so much interest in this painting that I am thinking of having prints made to sell, If I do I'll send you one for free.

Hey, that would be fantastic :). I don't know exactly what it is about the painting, but it's really striking - a combination of the colors, shadows and "photograph" quality of it. I'm not at all a student of art and can't talk about it with "artists" who see all sorts of things in it that I don't - all I know is when I like something that just happens to hit me just right, you know?

You're welcome for the compliment - 300 hours is LONG time, but you certainly captured what you set out to capture.

The Ted DeGrazia Superstition Mountain Collection will be on display at the Superstition Mountain Museum from Oct - April. It contains his vision of the Lost Dutchman and associated legends. Check it out.

Awesome painting! I cannot paint a straight line to save my soul! When I was a draftsman, I had no problem though. I love your acrylic study of the doorway! You are very good.

Thank you for the heads up! I will make it a point to go see the collection.

Go in on foot. Easier to hide 2 footprints instead of 6. Please ponder this point- In fall & winter look at top center (approx.) of Superstitions about an hour before sunset. You'll notice something reflecting sun. My story image - Reflecting image is pointing at the mountain range between Ellsworth & Bulldog Canyon (not sure of mnt. range name). My understanding is the Apache Indians were involved in a massive blood shed fight. I feel they were protecting "The Gold" which isn't in the Superstitions. The "Dutchman" story is just a decoy. Have fun and forge on!

This reflecting image , from where did you see it ?
You are the second member who wrote about this reflection . The first was BlindBowman ( who saw it from a plane ) . Maybe at last , something is there .

So you are saying there is a reflection on Superstition mountain,or the flat iron, and it is pointing towards bulldog canyon?
How can you be sure where its pointing? Do you see the end of the reflection in bulldog canyon. My boys have been out to Bulldog pit.
Do you remember that passenger plane flew into the flat iron last thanksgiving (maybe 2 years ago)..Is this the reflection maybe. My boys saw the flames and explosion when it hit.It was at night.

why not have the Dutchman dancing down the yellow brick trail with Dorothy the, lion, and the tin man,on there way to oz np:cat:

NP

When one man says how saw a reflection in a suspect for treasure mountain , you are 50-50 to believe him . But when say the same thing two different men , is good to check it .

I am forming a scene in my mind that I would like to illustrate. That scene is when the Dutchman discovers his friend Weiser has been murdered. I need input from folks who are more well read than I on whether this scene would include a Donkey, Mule, or Horse as the Dutchman's mode of transportation.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

I'd just take a blank canvas and paint "LOL" on it
