This was my first day out with the Makro Kruzer, so I decided first to take it to a super pounded site to see if I could root out a few more good targets with it. That's where I spent most of the day. I did manage to find 6 or 8 coins, including a Buffalo nickel, but no silver.
I wanted to do some digging and find some silver so I moved to a virgin site. Right off I found a Mercury dime, but that was all the silver that site had to offer. The rest of the finds were a dozen wheat pennies, some modern coins and a few pieces of trash. I always find silver on my time out with a new detector.
I've read that the Kruzer was noisy in the 4 tone mode, but I didn't find it noisy at all with the 7-inch concentric search coil attached. The Kruzer was hitting super hard on 6-inch plus coins. They sounded like surface coins. I was thinking about getting a 9-inch concentric search coil for extra depth but I don't think I'll be needing it.
