sizematters,
Welcome aboard.....since you found that first item in Germany....my first guess would be a spindle whorl.....just do a google search and you'll see other examples.

Well it's a lead weight , but it might not be a spindle whorl, but could be. I know this sounds confusing but The use of lead weights of this type is uncertain, and they are generally undateable. Some might have served as spindle whorls. They are also difficult to date, spindle, or loom weights were usually decorated on both sides with moulded lines and pellets, and to are also difficult to date as similar examples have been found in contexts that span the period from Roman to late medieval times. The consensus is that most of them date to the later medieval period.

First off since it's lead composition....I'd just rinse it off with a bit of tap water and let it air dry....no cleaning needed or recommended on lead.

Hit it with a hammer! - Just kidding but I don't think it is a mine. Good luck!
Bill nobody actually knows what the weights were used for, spindle whorls were the lead weights used in the making of fibers, such as wool, flax, hemp, cotton into yarn, like I said these were patterned with lines and pellets. Lead Weights had many uses.SS,
So if I read your response correctly and trust me I get easily confused....lol....at best what they were actually used for and when is a bit of an educated guess....
Take care mate!
