I found this in a ghost town yesterday.

It has four small holes in it for attaching to something. It is quite decorative but a little caked with dirt. There isn't corrosion but there is a slight green tint to some of it.

Its 1 3/4 inches wide and 1.0 inch tall.

Also, not magnetic.

Based on the age of the ghost town, no later than 1913.

What is it?

Thanks,

Patrick

With the holes in it like they are, I would guess it was a woman's fashion buckle.

Hi Everyone,

Ok, this is toooo cool. I posted the item above for identification. It might be a buckle, hair brooch, clothing accent, or native American regalia. Maybe another suggestion might come up. Check out the detail in the design. It almost appears to have been hand hammered in with all the little dots.

I was on the main page of this site and one of the pictures caught my attention.

It was in an album posted by a pretty good treasure hunter in Alabama. The album title was about favorite finds of 2007.

This one apparently found in Alabama in 2007 and the one I found in Texas last weekend.
