Hey arrowhead82!! Really Neat Finds!! CONGRATS!! Looks as if you were in the middle of the Skirmish!! GOOD HUNTING!! VERDE!!

Wow........ killer finds. The one with the very pronounced rifeling looks a bit more like a modern shotguns slug. Not saying it is for sure, but was my first impression. The rest of the stuff looks awesome. Some of the guys here will give you more expert advice than I can. A bit of advice..... Keep your location quiet if at all possible. Hard to believe how many will hord in if they get a hint of the location having CW relics.

I did some research and I think that you are correct about the shotgun slug. also will try to keep the location quiet. Thanks for the tips!

Yep, looks like you're on it. Nice saves!

The small bullets are dropped tear drop pistol bullets
Most likely confederate.
Congrats

Amazing finds! I always dreamed of finding civil war relics

The two curved pieces look like spurs.

You requested help in identifying the small bullets. They are US St. Louis Arsenal bullets for .36 revolvers. Prior to being specifically identified as such, relic-diggers called them "teardrop" or "Remington" pistol bullets. Yours are in eroded condition -- they originally had a sharp-pointed nose.

The bullet with super-deep rifling is not a shotgun slug, it is a fired civil war revolver bullet. The deep rifling has erased the evidence needed to ID it with certainty, but it is most likely an early-model Colt bullet.

That's cool...must of been a horse soldier skirmish??

The curved iron ones are spurs, and you will need to preserve them to keep them intact. The iron piece (band) below them is a barrel band from a musket or rifle. You will likewise want to preserve it to keep it from flaking away. See the link below:

Look for other gun parts, save and post everything for an ID here if you are unsure.

GREAT spot! Guard it and enjoy finding some excellent CW relics.

P.S.--the rifled bullets are post CW in your photos

Nice, looks like you found a good spot! I love digging those big .69's. The teapdrop ones appear to be .36 caliber Remingtons, here is some info on those in the link.....

.36 Caliber Navy "Remington Teardrop"

Yeah, I think it will be an amazing site. those finds were from detecting a 15-20 foot stretch of the river for about an hour and a half. once I get the fully waterproof detector I'm saving for, I should be able to detect the deeper holes that I was not able to access before. Thank you all so much for the IDs!
