Hey all,
Found this one in a ghost town in Missouri. I was a bit overwhelmed because I am new to the hunt and I didn't realize in all my excitement that I had my 4" coil instead of my 8" coil (yes I was that excited to get out of my front yard for the first time...lol). So, here I am in an open field with a four inch coil and lots of land to cover. I dug some old rail road spikes, a few peices of horse shoe, and a million nails (no pull tabs oddly enough, even with no discrimination). Then, unexpectedly, I got a signal that sounded like R2D2 making a baby. I almost didn't dig it because I was smoked from the hike/cold, but I went to all metal mode and realized the object was fairly large, and the depth readout was only 4", so I said what the heck, I am too new to be considering not digging something. So, I got to digging and saw yellow paint. Strange... Finally I got it out of the ground, cleaned it off and this is what it said "Riley Bros That's Oil Gauranteed Lubrication." It was a sign from an old shop. I decided to give it to the person that introduced me to the town, and forgot about it. Well, tonight I saw the sign again, and thought about doing some research...turns out a similar one (in much better condition) went for $250 on ebay last month!!! I told my friend that and she tried to give it back, but I said no deal, a gift is a gift! So, here's your sign, hope you all enjoy it! It's from the 50's...
