How about that. I had a huge pile of trash I had saved for years and threw out last season. Whod've guessed it would have come in handy for anything helpful.

Sorry for the delay in posting.

Here's the items I consider very dangerous from my last two weekend hunts.
All found at schoolyard playgrounds in the woodchips.

I, like most TNet members, remove every piece of trash I dig while hunting and dispose of it in the garbage. We leave it better then we found it!

Here's the knives I have found this season only at schoolyards in the woodchips.
Most of them lying on top or just below the surface.

Hey Piggman are you only looking for nasty stuff from the playgrounds and chips? I have a couple knives I recently found on the beach. Lotsa kids playing there too. One is ornately decorated with beads. I'm guessing it's a knife used in a ritual of some sorts. You can tell it's a kitchen knife. The beads are on there solid.Weird.

Thanks guys, these pictures are great. Just what I am looking for. I'm still waiting to hear from the TV station. You know how that goes, I doubt it is top piority, but at least it gives me time to get all of these great pics together. Thanks again for your help.

Piggman, I think what your doing is a wonderful idea that will benefit metal detecting for us all. And, from a safety standpoint, it will benefit everyone that utilizes these intensive and extensive recreation areas that we all like to hunt. After all, WE (if allowed) are the ones that are removing many of the hidden dangers that lurk on and below the landscape's surface.

After reading your post, I remembered I still had the common-place "junk" that I found in ONE HOUR of MDing at a local school practice field yesterday afternoon. I realize that these items may not have the "shock value" as a live .45 cal round or a tactical knife but, none the less, they can still injure.

The knife below was found in a TOT LOT, right in the middle of the playground equipment last Sunday. I had previously posted this in finds today..last Sunday 26 Aug 07.

I'm recording all of the pics on a CD to send to newspapers and TV stations around the Austin area, to show the dangers we remove and keep our parks safe. I will make copies if you have the same laws where you are at and want to do the same.
