I found a Large Cent and a V-nickel out there near the pits, before some bird sanctuary lady told me I couldn't detect on the island. There are some very nice Native American relics out there as well!

My understanding is that it is now a protected bird sanctuary for the better part of the year. I don’t see how they could say anything if you’re below the mean high tide line but there probably aren’t treasure related items out that far ALTHOUGH the water level of Long Island Sound has risen over the last couple hundred years. I’ll meet you out there next year!
