Hoof feet are most characteristic of Régence, William and Mary, early Louis XV and Queen Anne furniture, although it continued throughout the 18th century.

Welcome to Treasurenet !!
Don in SoCal.
Thank you for the info! I was thinking it might be from the 1700s but I can't find anything similar to it on the internet. Most furniture I found has wooden arms and no scroll work above the hooves. I am trying to get an idea of the value of it.

The carving quality is not what I would expect of North American or European furniture. The wood visible in the broken surfaces looks like a hardwood with some large pores. Just observations from someone who has seen a lot of old furniture and identified the wood in some of it. Getting an ID of the wood might help determine origin and help with valuation.

That is interesting. Maybe that is why I haven't been able to find info! Perhaps it originated in an European colony? I know little about antique furniture. It was found at a garage sale in Florida.
