I need a good gold detector for Winnemucca Nevada area gold claim

My budget is 8k. I am thinking of getting a GPZ 7000

that's a big investment.
have you hunted nuggets before with any detector?
treasurenet is a very good web site.
but, when it comes to finding gold nuggets with a detector
there might be better sites to look at for deciding on such a large purchase.
you might take a look a detectorprospector as there is a lot of good information
regarding finding nuggets with a beeper.
the 7k is the deepest hitting gold machine out there, but a lot of guys are going with the
6k as it is lightweight and more sensitive.
if you don't have experience hunting nuggets, i would highly recommend getting hands on, in the field training.
