I may have to take a page out of rileyboy's playbook

One of my supply banks (3 boxes of halves per week) is giving me a hard time about ordering halves. I understand it is a business, but deal with me honestly is all I ask. I am a straight forward guy, and I expect the same.

Last week they told me they didn't order any coin for the bank at all, so my halves did not get ordered. This week (today actually) I called to make sure the coins were in, and I was told they were not ordered for me again this week. I asked if this was just this week, or never again? She said they aren't going to order for me anymore since the bank gets charged a fee for the boxes. I said that's fine, but why all the kid games? Why couldn't someone just say that from the beginning?

Since I don't like how I was treated by them for the last two weeks I am going to see the woman that orders the coins tomorrow and let her know that if she can no longer order me coins (without a fee), then I will completely close my account with them (a little more than $30,000). Maybe her tune will change or maybe it wont, we shall see.

That sucks CnC!!! I would let the Bank Manager know what you intend to do with your large amount of money and the reasons for it. Maybe that will make them change their tune. If not, and the fee is nominal ($5 or less per box), I would pay if the boxes are really good. If they refuse that I would dump 3-4K a week on them. :tongue3:

You are doing the right thing by talking to the manager and showing her your account with the $30,000 in it. Be nice, but mention to her that one of the duties of the bank is to "provide service to it's good customer account holders." I would also mention that another bank in town would probably like you walking in and opening a new account with "$30,000." They may ask you to pay a fee for the boxes, but I wouldn't pay any more than $5 per box. You may also want to consider backing down a little on the number of boxes per week you order from them. See what happens, but definitely keep your cool. Just my opinion. Keep us posted.

All great pieces of advice rileyboy, thanks.

I am a very even tempered person, so keeping my cool won't be hard, especially when I know I am holding all the cards. I will meet with the bank about 2PM and then after that I will have an update for this thread one way or the other.

Well I went to the bank today for my "showdown", and the lady was actually very nice. She said that I am not cut off, it's just that they aren't ordering coin as often as they were (not sure I believe her, but it's tough to question that), and on the weeks they do order coins my 3 boxes will be ordered. She said I should actually be charged a fee, but after she verified how much I had in my accounts she said that they will continue not to charge me.

I still have my other supply bank getting me 4 boxes every Friday, so getting 3 boxes every 2nd or 3rd Wednesday from this bank is better than getting nothing from them.

I wouldn't have been so nice. There are plenty of banks out there and for a bank to not order coin each week is absolutely absurd and quite possible a downright lie. I would give them a coupe of weeks and see what happens but I am willing to bet that you won't get another box of halves from them again. BofA tried to charge me to order when I opened my account with them, guess what, they are now my premier dump bank when I hunt. We are not rich, but not poor either, it shouldn't matter what is in your account, you are
the customer of said bank and to keep you happy should be their number 1 goal. That is of course as long as your requests are not
to far out of the box and ordering coinage is not out of the box by any stretch of the imagination.

Well I know that my supply bank has told me that, but there are only about 2,000 or less people in the city limits. Plus, I have known the teller that orders for more than 30 years, so it does happen, but probably only in small towns such as mine.
