Didn't they used to make rings like that with a compartment for poison in case they were captured or needed some quick poison for doing someone in they captured?

Or am I thinking of James Bond 007?

looks older than WW2 on first look to me --- very cool indeed -- the compartment may have had a slip of paper with their id on it -- inside of it --at one time--- Ivan

I did some google search too for SNUFF RINGS and only came up with one for a witch ring!! Looked for military snuff rings, military WWII rings and military WWI rings...nothing
