my guess would be quite a bit older than WW2. is it marked inside anywhere?

It was among the rubble after my grandfathers house burned down 2 years ago .

Didn't they used to make rings like that with a compartment for poison in case they were captured or needed some quick poison for doing someone in they captured?

Or am I thinking of James Bond 007?

It wouldn't hold much of anything else...

looks older than WW2 on first look to me --- very cool indeed -- the compartment may have had a slip of paper with their id on it -- inside of it --at one time--- Ivan

sweetheart ring... US Army artillery... very cool... Many lockets like this were extreamly popular during WWII...

Locket ring? Possibly contained a small portriat at one time. Neat item, no clue on age and Google is failing me.

I did some google search too for SNUFF RINGS and only came up with one for a witch ring!! Looked for military snuff rings, military WWII rings and military WWI rings...nothing :(
