When I flipped the plug over and saw the silver edge of a rim that was the size and shape of a silver dollar I got a big ole smile on my face. NOPE, it was a pendant that was the size and shape of silver dollar. My heart sank!
After I wiped on it some and saw the sterling silver stamp and the date of 1929, I got my big ole smile back on my face. It's a very unusual trophy pendant and it must have an interesting history behind it. I sure would like to know something about it's past.
I'm lucky to have found it. I was detecting a 5 foot grassy area between the curb and city sidewalk in front of a house when a car drove up and parked in the driveway. A man got out and walked down to where I standing and asked me what I was doing. I told him what I was doing and then did some small talk with him. We got along just fine. I found out that him and his wife had just closed on the house and he was going to rip out all the shrubs, grass and build an addition onto the house. Long story short, I got permission to do his entire yard and he told me not to worry about me making a mess. lol
