Wow, really cool finds! My husband and I are taking an 8 hr trip to the beach this week, hope we find some things as exciting as that! Of course, they won't be as old, but I won't complain if I find a Rolex embedded with diamonds, or an IPOD. :)

What did that appear to be on your detector display? I am hunting a civil war battleground tommorrow and need to know what to look for. Thanks and Congratulations. That is a sweet find!

Nice buckle,

I'd take it anyday. Knowing me I'd probably take the chances on bending it all out.

Very NICE find buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found my first last month and I think I did back flips!!! ;D ;D Those are much harder to find these days. Like I said in another post, the old timers LITERALLY use to throw the U.S. buttons and plates and other relics back on the ground in the 50s, 60s and only kept the Confederate. That is why it is soo much hard to find Confederate buttons and plates today than it is U.S. And U.S. relics have become hard to find. Back in the 60s, 70s, I was reading an account that said on a good day you could look forward to finding 200-300 minies, 10-15 buttons, and a buckle or plate.... Now days, if you find a button and/or 5 minies....that is a good day! So that is definitely a great find bud! ;) ;)
