Found in a stone farmhouse yard. Any ideas what it was attached to ?
One end is smooth Other end is threaded
one side looks smoothed down a little other side looks to be a short
line like it was machine made.

Looks mighty close, but the twist is reversed.

Damn it, I had that thought last night before I went to sleep, I thought, I'll add that tomorrow. Great Minds :laughing9: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: This one is probably more likely, as they are more popular & have been around for a very long time (including on our Coat Of Arms) :icon_thumright:
i agree with you CRUSADER Great minds here for sure :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
i know you people are trying hard to help me on this what's it
i did find 7 catholic medallions in the yard that would've been lost after 1950's
also i think there was what looked like a weigh station platform there - might help :dontknow:
and the item isn't perfectly round i should've looked before i posted but the 1 photo shows
a flat area almost the entire length roughly 1/8th inch at the wide end the rest is round
unicorn sculpture - - - unicorn weathervane/gate could've been many things i'll keep asking
the people i know that might know and i'll keep searching the web till then it'll be a special relic
for the display i have for this site

"thanks again for your ideas everyone"

I think Zepher got it with a vent brush? Also they call it a brush but they have no bristles it works more like a reaming tool. :icon_thumright:

Again Just a Guess but this may show it is

Cast for a statue

Not Tooled for use.

If not perfectly round I would not be meant to
Go around.

I am curious as to whether the flat part is there by wear or there by intent?

jeff all the cast statues that i've seen were quality made not crude like my item
i'm not saying you're wrong though :) but if it was a gun tool i'm thinking it was made to push
it through the barrel not turn it the ridges were there to hold the fabric i'm just guessing too

hey everyone
i just talked to a few of my friends and all opinions ruled out gun cleaner

they seemed to agree it could've been a unicorn statue and one said ...... lol
it could've been a leg to a base from like a tea set, etc. any kind of base

so like jeff said this item could've been from anything 100's of things

looks like it'll be a "what's it" forever but it's a keeper to me :icon_sunny:

thanks for all the help everyone :icon_thumright:
