Big amethyst I started, I need to make some dimond cups to finish it...to hard for my plastic cup and grit...

Silicone carbide and aluminum oxide, just some tumbler grit i bought off amazon...

if you want a super crazy nice polish, use felt (make separate cups for this and keep machine super clean of other grits) and cerium oxide as last step.

Fantastic idea, please post progress/results

Would I used the felt cups and cerium at same time or 2 different steps?

same time, felt is the carrier for the cerium slurry.

You do need to get it to a certain step before you use cerium for best results, in the glass shop we use grits like up to around 600-1000, then pumice, then cerium. It creates a perfect polish if you keep the last two steps completely clean and separate.

Thank you...

any questions let me know, or just look up practices for polishing glass. pm me if you need sources for grits and the cerium.

just saw this toe...way to go !!

this is funny in a way, we want to make stuff we find or dig, I want to make fake coins out of lead, some of my old ones I dug and bury them in fields, I have an old lead melting pot, that a pipe fitter gave me, or maybe lead toys, dug a ton of them over the years, haha, and he gave me little gigots of lead too, I was thinking of gold leafing them and bury some on the beach
