I hate headphone cords!!

I use ear buds and just bought a 1 foot extension for them, hope it helps.

I don't mind the cord but I HATE being tethered to the detector. Wireless is definitely the way to go!

I didn't know anybody still tethered themselves to the detector...

I went wireless this Christmas. It's awesome not being tethered to the detector.

Hi; Heck I don't mind them at all. I love being choked when I turn the wrong way. OR trying to figure out why I can't get a signal when I'm in a hole just to find out the Headphones came unplugged. Don't you just love the melancholy.!!! :tongue3: :laughing7: I went wireless 3 months ago. God, I don't miss the old days. !!! PEACE:RONB

If you go wireless, is it bluetooth? just curious.

Yesterday I used my Explorer and CTX. We were hunting woods with moderate underbrush and many hanging vines. The Explorer didn't last long,WAY too much snagging. Being able to set the CTX down wherever I want is priceless.

What did you go with?

I asked for this from Santa, since I have many headphones I got these. They make any pair wireless. They also sell other sets/options.

I use the Deteknix WR6 and GG NoDownTime Phones.
Gary at DetectorPro made me a short cable...and if the WR6 runs out of time ~6hrs.,i still got the long cable in my pouch.

It's like the clouds parted and the deteknix unit was delivered by the heavens.
Why haven't I seen this before?
Thanks all,

Headphones and cord remind me I haven't left the detector behind (you'll get there).

TDK wr700 Been using them on my Etrac for two years, just bought a back-up pair. They are discontinued but can be found on Amazon and Ebay

I liked my AT Pro... but that headset wire made my life a nightmare.

I bought a Deus, problem solved.

Thanks all,

Yeah me too, I have a Garrett 300i and Vaquero looking at a pair of good future proof headphones, thinking earlier to go with the Grey Ghosts but now after looking at the Wire-Free™ W6 Pro, would it be wiser to get a better pair headphones like GG NDT as noted and the seperate 2 units from Deteknix Wire-Free WA seperately? Anyone else can suggest this over the W6 Pro any issues with multi vendor support issues with this. How much is one expected to buy this for in total for the setup?

I went with the 2 separate units since they work on all headphones and I already have a few pairs. Most of the time I hunt using a cheap pair that costs $4.99 since they still allow me to hear my surroundings when I am detecting. I do have a pair of Black Widows but hardly use them. You get 6 hours out of a charge, so if you hunt longer than that regularly you might want to invest in 2 sets. My hunts are normally 3.5 to 4 hours long. I allow the devices to die and later on in the evening I charge them up. When I got them I did not read anything, I just charged them up and began yo use them. The 1st day I hunted about 3.5 hours, the second day they died after about 2.5 hours. This is when I learned the charge is only good for 6 hours. So I plugged in my headphones to finish the hunt.
