Relic Hunting
Usually I put in my past posts "Penobscot Expedition" and maybe folks are either getting bored seeing my relic finds from this as in the last two post on a find of a rare Broad Arrow cannon ball or American 6 pounder got maybe 6 or 8 hits with a few of those remarks to questions or maybe the "Bling of gold coins, solid watches or thimbles or another GW button catches more attention than old rusted iron. I understand that but also in my opinion only our American history the Revolutionary war that gave us ,over 240 ago, the freedoms we enjoy today deserves our respect as well. Hey maybe just my patriotic view here but is mine.
Now usually I do a long post so often Tnet kicks me off do will post this now and come back to complete.
Okey. Thanks for u all that follow the one small Battle in mAine called "The Penobscot Expedition" and your remarks about my past posts . So now I got your attention with "I GOT BALLS" let me continue .Back about 4 months back I had a gentleman here on Tnet that wanted the thrill of hunting this site for a few relics and to be on historic ground. . He did have some physical limitations but was able to get some hunting in. HIs friend John came along to assist. I took them out on the trails and talked about the battle here in 1779. They both found some nice relics and enjoyed the beauty of my state. Two very nice guys I enjoyed having up and hope that can come up again in the Spring. Myself I was fortunate to find an American 6 pounder on Saturday and to my amazement on Sunday another American 6 before I lost my sound on my DEus and had to go into silent search mode. End of that day pulled out an American 3 pounder. All of them fired on the British on the morning of the 28th of JUly 1779 before the American's landed. Here are pics of in the hole. out of the hole and in a group shot. It has been a while since found two in one day but looks like the relic gods were with me. The Deus does it's duty well. To my surprize with 8 this year. Happy THing my friends. G

You've got the big iron dialed in! What made the deus act up?

Smallfoot- The Deus is indeed a wonderful machine but like any one needs to take care of the equipment . For me I forgot only the coil in waterproof and with a few hunting days in the rain water got into the remote and took out the sound. Still i was able to hunt in Silent Search and puled out a 3 but man what a neck ache from viewing the screen . Next remote I will indeed take better care. Not supposed t recommend detectrs but I think u know am happy with my little iron finder. Thanks Gary
