🔎 UNIDENTIFIEDI found this today in a tree nursery where there was an old home at one time in the 1800’s. Any ideas. Looks like a pretty Amazing piece😁
very interesting, most likely military inspired from that style of eagle. Whatever it turns out to be I can say that's a great find due to the age of the site.
Beautiful piece - My first thought was that it might be the center portion of a two-piece waist belt buckle or plate (likely non-regulation militia) that could have been repurposed. The droop winged eagle is really cool and could be early 1800s or even Confederate (Confederate pieces often have a droop winged eagle with no Federal shield on its chest).
